LAGDAMEO FUNDS 3 MILLION FOR NEW PANDAN BRGY. HALL RENOVATION

The barangay has been the forefront of public service and governance in the country even before the arrival of Spanish conquistadors. It is the most basic unit by which our local government commonly interacts with its people and directly intervenes to arrest the burgeoning problems of the Filipino society.

Aware of its importance, Davao del Norte Cong. Anton F. Lagdameo, Jr.of the 2nd District aptly make it the foundation of his  centerpiece Barangayanihan Program. And most recently, Lagdameo clearly manifested his support to the services of the barangay as he funded 3 Million Pesos for the construction/renovation of the New Pandan Barangay Hall, one of the poblacion barangays of Panabo City to which the old Panabo City Hall was located.

Barangay New Pandan has for several years, been accustomed to using its unfinished barangay hall in providing basic services to its constituents. Aside from being a residential and commercial center, New Pandan boasts as the location of various infrastructures and facilities including the city's Integrated Transport Terminal, the Old City Hall which is now the Panabo City Museum, and the historic Panabo City Freedom Park and covered court, where most cultural, political and social activities are being held because of its strategic location. It is also the home of the renowned Tonyboy Floirendo-founded Barangay Una Boxing Gym, where numerous Filipino amateur boxers hailed from before being summoned to represent the country in various international competitions.

However, Brgy. New Pandan's longing for the completion of its barangay hall came to an end as Cong. Lagdameo recently poured in 3 Million from his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) purposely to address its concern.

New Pandan Brgy. Capt. Jose Cafe and the rest of his kagawads

and functionaries was just ecstatic and thankful to the young congressman for his indefatigable support to them even as the project is still on-going because for now, their constituents can expect much better and much improved services that their people truly deserved.

Per info from Ms. Gene-Rose Tecson, Lagdameo's Chief of Staff, the New Pandan Brgy. Hall is just one of the several projects that are currently being pursued by their office before the end of 2013.
